Spicy BBQ Chicken Skewers with Red Onion Tzatziki and Potato Flat Bread

Aromatic spice blend of infused flavor’s that make up this incredibly flavorful and trendy dish.



  • 2kg chicken, breastcubed
  • 400g plain yogurt, full fat
  • 20g coriander, fresh, chopped for garnish
  • 20g Robertsons Barbecue Spice
  • 10g Robertsons Paprika
  • 10g cumin (ground)
  • 10g coriander (ground) 20g garlic, clovescrushed
  • 1pc lemon juice
  • 10 skewer sticks
  • 150g butter, melted

Red Onion Tzatizki:

  • 10g Robertsons Veggie Seasoning
  • 1kg plain yogurt, full fat
  • 4g cumin seeds
  • 10g red onion, finely sliced
  • 15g coriander, fresh, chopped for garnish
  • 4g coriander (ground)

Potato Flat Bread:

  • 308g flour, all purpose
  • 10g baking powder
  • 2g Knorr Aromat Original Seasoning
  • 190g Knorr Professional Mash Flakes
  • 500ml water
  • 40g, cheese
  • 2g Robertsons Veggie Seasoning
  • 114g butter

Potato Flat Bread Dough:

  • 1050g potato flat bread dough
  • 100g butter


Chicken :

Toast off dry spices till fragrant.

Mix together the yogurt, toasted spices, coriander, garlic, lemon juice together and marinate chicken cubes in the mix for 1 hour.

Assemble 200g of chicken cubes onto 10 skewer and grill off in grill pan for 4-6 mins on each side, basting with melted butter and then finish off in the oven at 180C for 15 mins till cooked.


Red Onion Tzatizki :

Combine all ingredients together and refrigerate.


Potato Flat Bread:

Sift the flour and baking powder, once that is done rub the butter with your fingertips into the flour until it resembles fine bread crumbs.

Boil your water, once boiled remove from the heat add 1 cup of mash potato flakes and mix well.

Take your flour mixture and add it in 3 parts to your mashed potato, once that starts coming together add the other cup of mashed potato flakes until it forms a soft dough.

On your working surface add some flour, place your dough on the surface and start to knead the dough until you are left with a soft ball of dough.


Potato Flat Bread Dough:

Divide the bread dough into 150g balls and roll it out flat.

Heat up grill pan till hot. Fry off the flat bread for 2-4 mins on each side till cooked. Brush melted butter onto flat bread.
